Transition Launch

We understand that the transition process from primary to secondary school can be an exciting yet daunting time for both parents and students. Many of you were able to join our virtual ‘Introduction to TSA’ meeting on the 21st March, which outlined the transition process and gave everyone the opportunity to ask initial questions about this process. If you were unable to attend the session, we have shared the recording below for you.

Below is an overview of key dates for your diary, as well as a transition booklet, a welcome from our students and some further information about our bushcraft days.

TSA Transition: key dates:

  • Thursday 26 March 2026: TSA Welcome Evening on Teams.
  • Wednesday 24 June 2026: small group transition for students identified by primary schools as needing additional support
  • Thursday  25 June 2026: Y6-7 Transition Day 1 (3 forms to participate in Bushcraft Day, 3 forms to participate in a TSA taster day)
  • Thursday 25 June 2026: Y6-7 Transition Evening for parents, carers and students
  • Friday 26 June 2026: Y6-7 Transition Day 2 (3 forms to participate in Bushcraft Day, 3 forms to participate in a TSA taster day)
Moorlands Learning Trust

About our trust

Moorlands Learning Trust (MLT) was formed on July 1st 2017, when Ilkley Grammar School converted its single academy trust to multi-academy trust (MAT) status. The Skipton Academy joined in 2019 as our first partner academy, and during 2023/24 we welcomed Ashlands Primary, Burley Oaks Primary, Eastburn Primary, Menston Primary and Nidderdale High School. In 2025, Benton Park School became the first secondary school in Leeds to join the Trust and in the same year, Talbot Primary School joined the Trust as the first primary school from Leeds.
