1.1 Demonstrating the Personal Best Values in the classroom

We ask that our students specifically demonstrate the following behaviour in classrooms to enable a positive learning environment:

  • Arrive on time
  • Enter the classroom quickly and quietly, engaging with the starter activity immediately
  • Have all required equipment for the lesson
  • Have iPads charged in preparation for learning
  • Wear full uniform with Pride
  • Demonstrate readiness to work and learn
  • Engage with learningas soon as you enter the classroom
  • Try to overcome challenges in lessons
  • Show Respect to others by modelling the Personal Best Values at all times ​
  • Complete all work set to a high standard and in line with your Personal Best, taking Pride in presentation and make full use of learning time ​
  • Take Responsibility for your actions, understanding that negative behaviour affects other’s right to learn ​
  • Behave safely, so as not to put other students or staff at risk ​
  • When dismissed, leave the classroom in a calm and orderly manner ​
  • Ask for help and support if you need it
  • Ask thoughtful questions to deepen learning
  • Take part in thought provoking discussions
  • Take Responsibility for your own learning, including setting of goals for improvement
  • Share knowledge with others and take advantage of opportunities to learn from others
  • Have Courage to respectfully challenge peers if they do not support a positive learning environment
