Eastburn Primary School Achieves the GOLD standard for The School Games Mark 2024/25

Eastburn Primary School has been awarded the GOLD standard for The School Games Mark, a government-led award scheme that celebrates schools’ commitment to developing competitive sports within both the school and the wider community. The scheme encourages educational institutions to evaluate their Physical Education provision and create an action plan for ongoing improvement.
As part of meeting the award criteria, Eastburn Primary School:
- Maintains and aims to increase engagement in the School Games, ensuring every child gets 60 active minutes daily (20 minutes for children with SEND)
- Organises competitions that provide positive experiences tailored to each student’s motivation, confidence, and abilities
- Supports the personal development of targeted students through youth engagement and leadership initiatives
- Provides equal opportunities for all students, irrespective of gender
PE Lead, Harriet Brewer, shared that the school is proud of achieving the Gold standard and highlighted Eastburn’s ambition to pursue the Platinum standard by further building on its current achievements over the next few years.
